It's a video for "The Lady from Shanghai" (1948) starring Rita Hayworth and Orson Welles who also directed this masterpiece of a motion picture.
While making this video, I truly noticed the brilliance of this outstanding film noir. It was truly ahead of its time.

Putting this video together was a real pleasure since I love the song "A Night Like This" performed by the Dutch singer Caro Emerald. I hope you like it, too. For this video, I've used clips from "Cover Girl" (1944), "Gilda" (1946) and "Separate Tables" (1958) - three actually very different films that have similar character dynamics, though, involving Rita's characters trying to win back the love of Gene Kelly, Glenn Ford and Burt Lancaster. Just Rita Hayworth and Debussy's "Clair de Lune." I've always loved this composition, especially this orchestral version. I literally owe my life to Rita Hayworth. If not for her I would not be here. She made a personal appearance for the troops in Weisbaden Germany. My dad, late to the show, asked an attractive young lady if he could sit in an empty chair at her table. She replied: "It's a free country." And the rest is history.
